Hello~! Since you're here, I'm assuming that you're interested in joining Edge of Glory, and that makes me super super happy. Of course, before you can get started, there are rules that you must read before you can start on making your profile.
By the way, these rules are subject to change and modifications.
- - -
On Joining
- - -
1) Please read the main site plot, before joining this rp. I know this is stupid to put as a rule, but I know people who are guilty of just reading the advert and then looking at the canon list and then joining. Yes, I am guilty of that too. But the main site plot is where the meat of the plot is and will you a lot of the backstory that is necessary for this rp.
2) Register your character under whatever name you want. But once your character is accepted, please change your display name to your character's name full name in CAPS. For example, my log in name for Reese Creevey is reesecreevey. His display name on the other hand is CHRISTOPHER REESE CREEVEY
3) We are accepting all canon characters along with non canon characters. Although it is much preferred that we stick with canon characters. Please look at the canon list to see which characters are available. If a character has a subplot or two associated with them, make sure to read that subplot and any subplot they are associated with.
4) You must reserve your character on the canon list before starting on your profile. You don't have to wait for your reservation to be approved, just please reserve your character before starting on a profile. If you don't do this, I'm sorry but no matter how awesome your profile is, if someone else reserved the character and made a profile, I'll have to accept theirs. So please, reserve.
* If you are playing a non-canon (a character that's not listed on the canon list) you don't need to reserve. Just post up your profile.
* Note that reservations will only last three days from the day you make your reservation.
5) Read the instructions on how to create a character before creating your character. There is a specific way it has to be done in order to keep everything organized.
6) Until your character is accepted do not post anywhere in the forum. Don't start a plot page. Don't talk in the ooc section. You are allowed to chat away in the chatbox but don't post with your character's account.
7) Once accepted, you will be given a set of instructions on how to claim your character's celebrity and sign up for clubs and such. Follow them carefully.
8) You are allowed to have an unlimited amount of characters only if you are able to handle all of them. This is a roleplay that is heavily based on relationships between characters so don't spread your attention thin. It is better to have few characters and richer relationships than a lot of characters and shallow relationships.
9) That being said, for every three female characters a roleplayer has created, they must create one male character. And for every four students created, a roleplayer must create one adult character.
What does that mean? That means that if you create three female characters you must create one male character to keep the balance.
And once you create four students, regardless of gender, you must create one adult character.
This is to keep balance of gender ratio and student to adult ratios.
10) In order to ensure that we get roleplayers best suited for this roleplay, the head admin (me, Noxly), reserves the right to question roleplayers via private messages before accepting a profile in regards to whether they have read the rules, subplots or took in consideration other characters that their characters interact with. I also reserve the right to reject your character if you do not pass this portion of the application if I so choose to question you.
- This will be especially true for characters with major subplots.

On Roleplaying
1) No Godmodding this means don't control other people's characters without their permission. If you are caught godmodding, you will be warned - because hey, we all screw up sometimes. Get caught again, a second warning. Three times, you're gonna be deleted.
2) Post length. I like long posts. Not gonna lie. I'm also notorious for writing long posts. But I don't want to see a novel length post of absolute garbage. That being said, please write a minimum of 450 words.
3) Keep it rated PG-13. Yes, 13. Use your general common sense with this. And ask an admin if you have questions. Better yet just go and read the community guidelines
4) No killing other characters without permission from the roleplayer. That is pretty self-explanatory.
- That being said, if your character ends up wanting to commit suicide, which er... I kinda don't see why that would be happening, PM and admin.
- And in regards to pregnancy. Adult characters only. And PM an admin before making your character pregnant.
5) Write your posts in Third Person and in the past tense. I hate reading posts that are in first person and present tense. So please don't do it. Profile however can be written in first or third person depending on how you feel like writing it.
6) You are required to have a 100x100 picture of your character up as an avatar. Signatures are also required. Please be tasteful. No nudity. Half naked men are fine, but we don't want to see his package. Nor do we want to see a huge helping of your girl's voluptuous breasts. Post formats are optional.
7) Face Claims must be of celebrities or models. No myspace pictures, scene kids. Don't use a picture of yourself or your cousin. Celebrities and models only please.
8) Stay active. Yes, stay active. The more active you are, the more active other people will be. It's true. Especially if they like you characters and have a solid relationship between their character and yours.
9) This is an extremely dynamic character-based roleplay where the drama depends on CHARACTER INTERACTION and CONFLICT. This means that we do NOT do insta-romances where your characters will have a final boyfriend or girlfriend immediately. Do NOT expect to have a perfect romance. Please be OPEN MINDED about all your options when it comes to romance. Just because your character is slated in a subplot to have a crush on someone does NOT mean you have to stick to it. Nor does it mean that anyone will stick to it.
- That being said, be really open minded about romances. Do NOT stick to just one romance that you want specifically and nothing else. This is unfair to the roleplayer who plays the character you want your character to hook up with. This is also unfair to anyone else who might like your character or the character you are pursuing a romance with.
- And if your character happens to get into a relationship with a character, even if they seem to be perfectly happy together always think in the back of your mind that at any moment things can go wrong and they can still end up breaking up.
- Finally, don't be afraid to create drama within the characters. But do NOT create drama in the ooc.

On Interacting With Fellow Roleplayers
- - -
1) Be respectful. Don't cause drama. Don't be mean to other roleplayers. Don't harass people for posts. Just don't be an idiot.
2) Interact. I mean it. Get to know each other. We're all friends and we're all strangers sitting at a computer or laptop screen. Might as well get to know each other and become friends.
On this note: Don't be afraid of plotting with people. Please do not just create a plot page and then expect other people to respond to your plot page. Go, read other plot pages, respond to those plots, create some random ideas, create some drama~!
3) Have fun! Isn't that why we're roleplaying in the first place?
4) As an add on to the romance rule up there, please do not blatantly advertise which characters you ship. As an example, I personally like... [/looks at her characters] Albus and Scorpius (because I do and I can't think of any female canons he'd fall for). I will not be talking in the chat about "ALBUS AND SCORPIUS FOREVER" or "Albus and Scorpius is such a great couple ". This makes things really awkward really fast in the chatbox.
5) Do NOT pressure people into relationships (be it romantic or friendship) that they do NOT want to be in. So if someone does not want to be your character's significant other or your character's final, do not push it.
- The only exception to this rule is if you are in a subplot. Example: Kaitlyn has to be torn between James and Sterling. Like absolutely torn between these two boys. I don't care if you want only James, if that's what you want, this is not the roleplay for you. But even then, she can easily end up falling for someone like Lorcan or Scorpius if she wants too. She does NOT have to stay only with James or Sterling. This applies to other characters in other subplots too.
6) As head admin, I reserve the right to ask you to make modifications to your profile, character, or frame of thought in order to best suit this roleplay. Especially if I feel like your character is not fitting in too well with the rest of the characters in Edge of Glory.
Some examples of not fitting in too well would be:
If your character is a Mary or Gary Stu
If you don't understand that this is character-conflict driven roleplay
If you don't understand that we do not do insta-romances or early final relationships (if we even do final relationships)
More can be added as I see fit
7) Have lots of fun~! Yes, more rules were indeed added on.
